GV500 for Year Round Gravel Riding

Cyclists head through a dark woods, lit by streams of sunlight in Endura cycling gear

The adventures don’t need to stop when the mercury drops…  Our small but perfectly formed GV500 gravel collection is expanding to cover the colder and wetter months of the year, so whatever form your gravel grinding takes, Endura is here to keep you comfortable in the saddle. This is the latest evolution of the fledgling range that will continue with the addition of women’s kit soon.

With over 25 years of heritage engineering game-changing cycling kit for on and off road, few brands are better placed to deliver a no-nonsense gravel collection as we are. The GV500 range deploys our favourite tricks, materials and technologies from both road and MTB worlds, to create adventure specific garments that are ready to tackle every surface. With input and wear testing by world class adventure cyclists, including James Hayden, it is designed to take on an evening gravel blast, a trans-continental crossing, and everything in-between.

GV500 is designed for gravel adventure. Whether that’s a Tuesday evening World Champs or a multi-day country crossing epic, a lightweight waterproof shelter is an essential part of a rider’s outfit. Carefully constructed using the proven ExoShell40 fabric, offering monster breathability and a perfect balance of light weight and durability the new GV500 waterproofs provide fantastic wet weather protection while being small enough to stash away when not in use.

Ian Young, Endura’s Brand Manager, is thrilled with the new editions to the GV500 range:
“It’s safe to say I am obsessed with waterproof jackets and how critical they are to enjoying riding in Scotland pretty much year round, so the new GV500 Waterproof is pretty exciting for me with a super versatile design that excels across a wide range of conditions and terrain. The slim but not too racy fit means it can be worn with lycra roadie style legwear or with baggier more MTB style. The ExoShell40 fabric provides a great balance between performance, comfort and reasonable pack size meaning it’s great as an all-day foul weather piece or as an on/ off option in more variable conditions. Also worth noting the strength of the killer new Paprika colourway, for those looking to brighten up a dull day!”

GV500 Waterproof Jacket

The GV500 Waterproof Jacket shares the DNA of the earlier MTR Shell, a multi-award winning jacket that was a firm staff favourite. Made from three layer waterproof Exoshell40 fabric in a fully seam-sealed construction and treated with a PFC-Free, non-toxic durable water repellent finish means that weather protection and breathability are assured. The cut is slim but not too racy, fitted enough for pushing the pace on the drops but wide enough to layer up underneath. The jacket is pared down on features to keep bulk down, and as a result the pack size is tiny and it’s incredibly lightweight. It does have a chest pocket, which it can pack into, replacing the need for a separate stuff sack. It also features a grown on hood and a long drop tail for rain and spray protection.

GV500 legwear also makes use of our outstanding Exoshell40 fabric meaning that the GV500 Waterproof trousers and shorts provide lightweight packable protection for the legs. Their small pack size when rolled into their elastic is ideal for multi-day adventures.

They feature a new waistband construction, with a soft comfortable internal elastic and a simple elastic loop for easy packing which doubles as a hanging loop for drying them off whether in a remote bothy or back at home in the garage. They come in a gravel-specific slim cut and with a durable seat panel for longevity, and they are Clickfast™ compatible so any Endura liner shorts can easily be attached to the internal poppers. Reflective logos increase visibility for when you’re hitting the road. The trousers also feature a long ankle zip with internal gaiter to get them on and off easily.

GV500 Insulated Jacket

Serious adventures require serious kit and that’s where the GV500 Insulated Jacket comes into play. This new super light, packable insulator deploys PrimaLoft Gold insulation, sandwiched between incredibly light, yet durable windproof shells to offer warmth in cold evening or early morning starts. Easily stashed away in one of the hand pockets, this is the perfect companion for multi day bike packing missions. A two-way centre-front zip allows it to be quickly opened on those steep unexpected climbs, and discrete reflective details around the jacket provide added visibility for those stints on the road. The jacket is minimal in design, yet offers superb warmth and protection, whether riding in freezing temperatures or just trying to light your stove on a remote hill side in the dark on your latest bike packing adventure.

A snug, grown on insulating hood with a simple elastic bound front edge and volume adjustment toggle on the back provides additional post ride warmth and is also fitted enough to fit under a helmet. Lycra cuffs keep out the drafts, improving comfort if worn underneath a waterproof shell and minimizing pack size. The left hand side of the two hand pockets features a double-sided zip and becomes a stuff sack, creating an extremely impressive, 245g pack that can easily be stowed away in your luggage. To achieve that low weight, Endura has selected some pretty special fabrics that contain over 80% recycled fabrics, plus on the outside a PFC-Free, non-toxic durable water repellent finish.
