Men's Pro SL 3-Season Jacket - Pumpkin

Living not far from Endura HQ i've always thought their stuff was excellent for typically scottish days on the bike. ALL my mountain bike stuff is from you guys, all my road and gravel gloves and my kids helmets. Never had a duff product until now. I wanted a jacket to replace my excellent Pro 260 shell for wet and windy gravel and road rides and this looked ideal on paper. When it arrived it was less shell and more softshell but i thought there must be method in the madness and i'd give it a shot. Went out at the weekend for a 3 hour gravel ride in dry conditions with a biting wind that took the temp from 7 to "feels like" 1 degree. Wore and endura long sleeved base, jersey and this jacket without the gillet. Within 15 mins i had all the vents open and within 30 mins i had to stop to take my jersey off. The rest of the rise was spent with the main zip half way or all the way down to try and cool down. There is no way it's suitable for a 15 degree ride as claimed. It's almost certainly great if it's really really cold but that's not what i bought it for. I ride 3k miles a year on road, gavel and mtb and i've never been so dissapointed in a product. Maybe I just run way too hot but whatever the reason it's not for me.

This jacket is a really well thought out design, looks great and covers a wide range of riding temperatures. It has a sort of raggy-looking inner vest insulation that can be unsnapped from the main shell if riding in temperatures above 5C. Using it in temperatures above that and you will toast! What makes this jacket better than all the rest are the excellent vents and its great that Endura included forearm vents. Winter jackets that I've had previously, my forearms would get sweaty in freezing weather on climbs so this feature is fantastic. Finally, I was riding one afternoon and a young woman in a crosswalk stopped for a second and said "You look great!" I'm fifty plus something years old, and look it, so that comment makes this jacket priceless! A week later I got "You looking sharp, baby!" Love it!

I've waited until I've really put this to the test before reviewing. I've never had a winter jacket before and this is great for me. I've used it in full wet conditions, damp conditions and temperatures down to 3C. Worn with a long sleeved base layer it's kept me at an ideal temperature and without getting soaked with sweat. It wouldn't have kept me dry in a sustained downpour but worked well combined with a rain jacket in these conditions. Wear with a neck tube if it's very cold.

Ordered Friday, arrived Monday. Weather cold, windy and raining but the jacket came out of the box saying "Fancy a ride? Let's go!" So we did. What a joy. Warm and dry all the way and came back buzzing. The pumpkin colour and reflectors give good visibility and it looks great too. I know it's going to be luring me out for rides all through autumn and winter. It's gone straight to the top of the favourites list. 

Looks brilliant. I just wish Endura would do a few more colors like yellow or their old neon blue which I though was lovely and stood out. Always feel they do good kit but their colours are interesting to say the least. A nicer colour and would definitely consider buyng.
