Just fine

Not used yet but this pair of Hummvee Shorts with liner seem to do the trick. The liner is better than the previous Endura one I had which had tight bands around my thighs which I had to cut off shortly before throwing the liner away. It seems a much better fit around my legs and overall too. The shorts have all the tech and facilities and comform you'd expect. My only previous Endura MTB shorts were 'waterproof' ones & the taped seems have fallen off and they arent exactly waterproof anymore. These shorts seem better made though & the fit, pockets & overall design looks fine.

Disappointing successor to the original

Lets face it, it's hard to beat perfection. And that's what Endura achieved with the Hummvee I. The gold standard of trail shorts. So Endura, why did you even try to improve what was already the best?  These shorts are good, but they don't come close to the originals. The fit is good to size, but it's a weird cut at the front giving an odd baggy appearance when standing. The liner size however is way off. It's a medium size equivalent on the large sorts.  The material choice is good. Slightly lighter weight though it seems compared to the original, so we'll see how it holds up over time. The zipper pockets and vents are well placed, the zips are good quality and the pockets roomy. The "map" pockets however are a disaster. On this version these are further back than on the originals and smaller. It's difficult to get into them with gloves on. So much so that sometimes you have to stop riding to be able to access the pocket to get your phone in and out. This is compounded by the broad elasticated back panel, which provides a good fit when bending/seated, but stretches when trying to access the pocket so that you end up trying to push into a fold in the fabric instead of the pocket. Had the pockets been further to the front like before this wouldn't happen. Overall I'm satisfied, but with these drawbacks I'd now consider trying other brands. So please Endure, re-release the original versions and I'll buy enough to last me a lifetime!

Hummvee Short

I was glad to find a short that fitted my waist, unfortunately my legs aren't that long. I also found that the poppers that keep the inner layer unpopped all too easily and found the shorts separating as I was going downhill.

Favourite MTB shorts

Really good shorts. Good build quality, loads of ZIP(!!) pockets which is great for commuting, has air vents and comes with a really good padded liner too. The only thing I would say is that the press buttons for the liner can be a little awkward - especially the ones at the back so I never bother clipping it in but other than that, a really nice pair of shorts for riding. Will definitely get some more in another colour!
