An Excellent Piece of Winter Kit

The MT500 Freezing Point Gilet is an essential piece of kit for my winter rides, especially on frosty mornings. I like how I can wear it over my usual cycling tops with the Pro SL PrimaLoft keeping my core warm, but not too hot on my back under my pack. I choose the gilet over the jacket as I find insulated jackets too hot unless its exceptionally cold, a gilet provides greater unrestricted arm movement and if I feel warm enough it takes up less space in my pack (I would take a fully insulated jacket in Winter on longer/remote rides).

Additional winter warmth

I've owned a Pro SL PrimaLoft gilet for a number of years now, and don't get me wrong, I love it; it packs down super small and is great as an additional layer if we have to stop for a break. However, it's very much a 'roadie' fit so I was after something a little some casual for MTB'ing. The MT500 Freezing Point Gilet is exactly what I needed. It doesn't pack down as small as my Pro SL Gilet however it is better insulated and longer in length. I've worn in under a jacket when its really cold or, for the most part, I've worn it as the outer layer over a winter jersey. I really like the fit and the pockets double up as vents when you catch some winter sunshine on a sheltered climb. My only negative is that I wish Endura made the men's version in paprika red, and the women's version in electric blue
