A breathable and waterproof membrane sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of the glove provides protection from the elements, keeping your hands warm and dry whatever your style of riding. The lining is even a soft brushed fabric for that instant pull-on warmth.

Internal slipperiness
The various layers of fabric and membranes do not appear to be bonded to each other and this causes a weird slippery effect on the palm. The outer layer sticks to the handlebar grips but your hand slides around inside the glove. Only worn once so far and my hands felt fatigued after 20 minutes. It's probably better than cold wet bare hands but I didn't expect that to happen based on a previous pair of waterproof gloves from a competitor.
