Looking back to Limitlass

Endura Takes the Lead as Limitlass event partner

The Limitlass MTB festival, a celebration of women’s mountain biking set in the in the stunning Glen Tanar Estate took place in north-east Scotland in late August, we look back on an amazing weekend of mountain biking and much more.

The event, which sold out in 24 hours, is designed for riders of all abilities, and is focused on community, skill-building, and fostering connections within the world of mountain biking for the 90 participants.

Endura played a pivotal role this year, stepping up to support as the lead partner. We know that women-only events are a key factor to encouraging more women, and people identifying as female, to enjoy cycling; creating safe spaces for women to explore their love of mountain biking.

Our product team hosted a “fit studio”, engaging with the group to gather valuable insights and play ‘guess the garment size’ – with sneak peeks of some improved and brand-new products.

Throughout the weekend we were gathering information on the size of riders to help us make our kit fit better through our in-depth fit survey. An online version of the Women’s Fit Survey is still open and we’re offering a 10% discount at endurasport.com if you’re able to help.

Everyone who filled in the survey was gifted a special ‘SurpLass’ fabric drawstring stuff-sack. Perfect for storing helmets or shoes, this unique sack was created by the team in Livingston using excess fabric left over from a recent production of our Women’s Pro SL Jersey and surplus stock of elastics, and toggles.

Teaming up with Trash Free Trails A-Teamer Jane Chisholm, we hosted mending circle sessions, teaching people the art of clothing repair to promote sustainability with each participant receiving one of our new Repair Patches to fix their gear at home.

To create a long-lasting legacy from Limitlass, we’re supporting female mountain bikers to develop their professional skills. The initiative aims to provide development opportunities for women seeking qualifications in coaching, leadership, mechanics, or trail building. The first recipient of support completed her coaching award in the intervening year and returned to coach at this year’s event.

Lucinda Beresford, Endura: “When Fiona, Katie and Anna approached us to come on as lead partner, we aspired to be more than just a brand splashed across the event. For Endura, understanding the barriers to participation and supporting more females to experience the euphoria of the ride is part of our mission and our partnership with Limitlass reflects this.

From creating the Limitlass jersey with our designer Sue, to delivering mending circles with our friends at Trash Free Trails, we’ve collaborated to create something truly unique and special. I’m proud of the team and can’t wait to see what’s next for Limitlass and the legacy we are building together.”
