BIKE MTR Baggy Short Review

BIKE MTR Baggy Short Review

Enduro Mag - Design & Innovation Award 2015 - MTR Baggy Short

Enduro Mag - Design & Innovation Award 2015 - MTR Baggy Short

"The new baggy short from Endura's line is the perfect choice for the wet season! The shorts from the traditional Scottish company are well made and boast numerous sensible features. The comfortable cut is wide enough to give you room to move, but efficiently designed so that the shorts don't get caught up anywhere. The real secret of the MTR is, however, the stretch material used, which together with the various adjustment options at the waistband ensure a great fit. The robust, waterproof insert on the back keeps out dirt and moisture even on longer rides, but is still thin and not too heavy."

Enduro Mag (DE) - Design & Innovation Award 2015 - MTR Baggy Short

What MTB - MTR Baggy Short Review

"These well-made shorts are warm enough for sub-zero riding, yet light, comfy, and perfect for year-round use too. Clever design allies a grippy pad in the waistband to a stretchy rear panel... There’s a good range of effective adjustment from the Velcro tabs, and sizing is accurate... The rear panel is treated with water-resistant DWR, which helps hugely with comfort... their slight stretch means a welcome lack of snagging without any restricted movement.. stitching is accurate and strong, performance is excellent and quality is high."

"The grey anti-slip panel can be seen above the waist. This 'cat-tongue' material is smooth in one direction but rough in the other. Combining a patch on the short and the bibs helps to keep them in place."
"The Velcro waist adjustment is one of the most solid I have found..."

MBUK - MTR Baggy Review

MBUK - MTR Baggy Review

"The MTR range was designed for serious XC performance and endurance riding, and even if you didn’t know that, you’d guess it from the ergonomic shaping and slim fit. These shorts really do feel contoured, from high-backed waist to the stretchy Y shape across the front of the thighs, and aren’t at all restrictive. The material is light and has a good amount of stretch – even the water-resistant DWR panel on the backside isn’t heavy – but the shorts don’t feel flimsy. We like the details too – the long zip-pulls on the pockets, the double waist fastening that prevents twisting, the hanging loop and the non-slip patch on the back of the waistband. They’ve got all the features you need with no unnecessary bells and whistles, and are well worth the £60 price tag.”

"Endura’s long been the stalwart brand of UK trail riding – durable and practical but dare we say it, not very sexy? We suspect its MTR range may change people’s opinion on that last point. The shorts (are) so light as to feel barely there... a bike-specific cut matched to durable and rugged material."

Switchback (US) - MTR Review - Baggy Short

"The MTR Baggy Shorts..fit well over the Softshell Bibshorts and stayed nicely in place. The leg cut is tighter than many baggy shorts, which is appreciated as it cuts down chafing and reduces the chances of them catching a branch.. The MTR Baggy Shorts are quite water resistant and.. kept us drier and therefore a bit warmer."

Velo (CZ) - MTR Baggy Short Review

Velo (CZ) - MTR Baggy Short Review
